關於龢wo4 About Brian Chu Yin-woo

聲音即興表演者，演出化名：龢wo4。

龢wo4 以身體與物件、樂器、噪音回饋及空間互動進行演奏。他的創作靈感來自詩意書寫、田野錄音和日常考察。他通過生活中的聆聽和觀察，以聲音來理解、反思並尋找內心與世界的連結語言。現為香港自發藝術集體「Writing As Method」和「Exit-Entry」成員。

2018年，他獲選為聲音掏腰包「藝術家支援計劃」的年輕藝術家，自此活躍於香港的地下音樂和藝術場景。他曾在日本、台灣、菲律賓及馬來西亞演出，並於2019年參加馬來西亞的KLEX Festival，及於2021年參加香港的第四屆聲形聲音藝術節：當刻_當下。此外，他為香港藝術家劉清華的影像作品洞璧與哨鳴編寫配樂，該作品獲得第二十七屆ifva媒體藝術組金獎及2022年南瀛獎。2024年，他與香港獨立樂隊Wellsaid合作，於專輯Regretopia 共同編寫Interlude 一曲，作品於獨立廠牌明日未知上發表。

龢wo4於2020年發行了首張個人樂器專輯螺旋體。2024年，他再發行聲音拼貼迷你專輯好似一直擁有那隻眼。同年，他與台灣聲音藝術家劉芳一合作，於加拿大廠牌presses précaires發行mui wo。

Brian Chu is a sound improviser. He uses his body, objects, instruments, noise and feedback to echo the space during performances. His creative inspiration comes from poetic writing, field recordings, and everyday observations. Through listening and observing in daily life, he uses sound to understand, reflect, and seek a language that connects his inner self with the world. He is currently a member of the Hong Kong art collectives "Writing As Method" and "Exit-Entry."

In 2018, he was selected for the Artist Supporting Program by soundpocke. Since then he has been active in Hong Kong's underground music and art scene. He has performed in Japan, Taiwan, Philippines, and Malaysia. Brian participated in the KLEX Festival in Malaysia in 2019, and took part in the 4th Sound Form, Sound Art Festival: Present_Present in Hong Kong in 2021.

Additionally, he composed music for the video work The Cave with a Weeze by Hong Kong artist Jess Lau, which was granted the Gold Award in the media art category at the 27th IFVA and the NanYing Award in 2022. In 2024, he collaborated with Wellsaid to co-write the track Interlude for the band's album Regretopia, released by un.tomorrow.

Brian Chu released his debut instrumental album Spiral in 2020. In 2024, he released a sound collage EP only to be found. That same year, he collaborated with Taiwanese sound artist FangYi Liu and released mui wo, an album fuses field recording and improvisation, through the Canadian label presses précaires.
